System Failure

The system did not work. The system is not a machine that finds terrorists. The system is a network of people using reliable sources and yes technology to find out where. So when Napolitano said the system worked it puzzled me and many other Americans. How could a system have worked when a terrorist tried to strike a bomb on an American bound airplane? I am not exactly sure how you could claim the system worked. Recent developments have showed that prior intelligence showed a man simply called the “Nigerian” was on terrorist watch lists. Further the man’s father several times had spoken with United States Embassy’s. There was also information about a planned terrorist attack on Christmas Eve, and there was some linkage to the “Nigerian”. Somewhere along the way this information was lost and did not reach people of significant power who would be able to prevent the attack. The only system that worked was the system of relationships humanity has for one another, for if it was not for the passengers we would have been presented with the second terrorist attack of the year.
