Double Standards
There is a double standard developing in the political realm. This
double standard is obviously being directed towards the Republican Party. We saw this standard before when Governor Sanford and former presidential candidate John Edwards were both exposed for adultery around the same time. If we compare both stories we can see that they both provide for interesting and attention getting stories. However the coverage was incredibly lopsided with much more focus on Sanford. Edwards' affair would have been brushed under the carpet if it was not for Fox News. These two situations and betrayal by the media show the double standard for Republicans. But today we are seeing an all-new double standard with the comments made by Harry Reid towards President Barack Obama. Recently a representative for the NCAAP excused Reid, claiming it was not racist but awkward. Let me repeat that the NCAAP excused Reid for his negro dialect statement. I strongly believe the only reason NCAAP is defending Reid is because he is a Democrat. We saw how the NCAAP reacted when Senator Joe Wilson called out "you lie" during President Obama's speech to Congress, claiming this was a racist outburst not a political. Conservatives beware your standards are double that of liberals.
